In May 2009, the crew of the Space Shuttle Atlantis launched a mission to make vital repairs and upgrades to the Hubble Space Telescope, the world’s first space-based observatory, 350 miles above the Earth. The photos of the depths of the universe captured by the Hubble Telescope are processed by the National Supercomputer Application Center to obtain computer images, allowing the audience to experience the Andromeda Galaxy, the Butterfly Nebula, the Orion Nebula and other unseen cosmic wonders.
